Today, I got a text from my son from college.  Freshman year is everything he hoped for and more.  He has pledged a Fraternity, taking honors classes and getting use to the riggers of college.

His text to us today caught my eye and would be relevent to this blog.

“My professor today in my colloquium had a lecture about selective mutism… apparently I’m like the only case to ever break out of it so young.”

Cannot wait to talk to him to hear about this one….

I read the whole thing tonight. My daughter is 5, our stories are quite similar . I’m praying for a successful outcome. Abby talks to friends in her class, but is severely anxious about what comes next. She has a heighten sensitivity to smell, so much that her baby sister that was born when Abby was three, would make her vomit when having formula. Abby is very bright. Any recommendations, besides braking my fine china? I am considering kinder next year in private school.
